Sailing starts this Sunday at 1.00 with Kath and me doing the start honours. Winds are forecast to be light and variable, so we may use the new windward/return course which is described in the updated sailing instructions. Please come to the briefing at 12.00 to hear all about it.
The AGM is two weeks later (Sun 21 Sep) at 11.00 am.
Those planning to attend the AGM should aim to rig up before the meeting.
The agenda for the AGM is:
1. Apologies
2. Acceptance of Minutes of AGM held 22 September 2013
3. Commodore’s Report
4. Financial Report
5. Election of Office Bearers for 2014-15
6. Other business
The financial reports will be circulated in the week before the AGM, and the Commodore’s report will be delivered on the day.
It is the general practice of the Club that nominations for office bearer and committee positions are dealt with on the day of the meeting with nominations from the floor.
However the Club Constitution does provide for written nominations, which should be received by me no later than seven days before the AGM and meet the requirements set out in the Constitution which can be accessed via the Club website. I suggest that anyone interested in a position should first talk to Frank.
In my case I intend that this will be my fifth and last year as Secretary and Treasurer – if nominated and elected at this AGM. Anyone who is interested and willing to take on the role next year might like to talk to me in coming months to see what is involved.
